Fast-paced souls-like action game for PC
Eldest Souls is a premium action game developed by Fallen Flag Studios for PC. It is an isometric souls-like adventure that revolves around the story of the gods unleashing darkness upon the world. It is up to a lone warrior to stop this impending doom and save everyone.
Combining the top-down isometric perspective of Hades with retro pixel graphics of Dead Cells, Eldest Souls is a charmingly-designed game with challenging gameplay. It offers fast-paced combat with an expansive skill tree that can be modified and adapted to a variety of different play styles and battle scenarios.
Defy the gods
Eldest Souls is set in a world where man is in hardened servitude to the Old Gods. Unable to bear their plight any longer, humanity rebels and imprisoned these ancient beings within the sacred walls of the Citadel. In a final act of vengeance, the gods unleash a Desolation upon the world. It’s up to you, a lone warrior wielding a giant obsidian sword, to save everyone.
When it comes to combat, this game cuts straight to the point and focuses on the boss fights themselves. Each Old God you face will have unique powers and abilities, which you can take for yourself to use once you defeat them. You even get to customize and create combinations for them to suit your liking and the way you play the game.
You’ll also meet NPCs that will offer various quests that will let you explore the passages of the Citadel more intricately and discover mysteries about the Old Gods. However, the game itself is rather short despite the variety of its combat styles and a New Game+ mode. The game can be completed in a few hours. It could use more content in future updates.
Brutally fun
Souls-like games need no introduction at this point, and if you are looking for something new to play, give Eldest Souls a go. It features distinctively challenging combat and a highly customizable combat experience. Its decision to focus on boss battles is a nice twist, but it did come at the expense of gameplay length. Nevertheless, this is a solid game worth checking out.
