Give your photos a horrific makeover

Halloween is upon us once again, but if you haven’t got the money or the inclination to go trick or treating this year then check out Spooky Photo Free.

This app allows you to make scary scenes out of your photographs. For example, you could put a zombie into a wedding picture, make bats appear in the sky above your house, or add a menacing pumpkin head onto an image of your dog.

All this is done in Spooky Photo Free by dragging elements onto a photo from the toolbar. They can then be moved around or resized using your fingers, although, in truth, this is rather a fiddly process and it can take some time to get your scary photos looking authentic.

Spooky Photo Free gives you the option to either take a photo directly on your iPhone then edit it, or import one from your camera roll. Once you’ve finished editing, the spooky image can be saved on your device ready to freak your friends out.

It’s a shame there aren’t more effects, but Spooky Photo Free is still worth installing if you’re crazy about Halloween.
