Become a World War II bomber

Here’s a great game to play after a stressful day at the office. iBomber puts you in the cockpit of a World War II bomber and gives you a number of strategic raids to accomplish.

You need to fly around dropping bombs out of your plane and taking out targets based on a series of objectives. There are a number of different scenarios to get through, and you need to pass a mission in order to unlock the next one.

The controls in iBomber take a lot of getting used to. You move the plane by tipping the iPhone up and down, which adjusts the bearing on the on-screen compass. You’ll find that this is very sensitive though, and the slightest nudge at the wrong moment will send you hurtling off course. Dropping the bombs is done by hitting the big red button, and it’s advisable to keep tapping this repeatedly if you want to clear your targets before you get shot down.

The presentation of iBomber is excellent, featuring a top-down view of the pretty detailed scenery below. The soundtrack is great too, and makes it feel like you’re the dashing hero in one of those classic War World II movies.

iBomber may be pretty challenging, but its excitement and action will keep you occupied for hours.
