Single-player philosophically inspired visual novel

Nothing! is a single-player game that presents users with a series of challenging puzzles. Deciphering these requirements will unlock additional chapters and, once again, more riddles to solve. Some of these conundrums can be extremely difficult to decipher.

Described as a “philosophical visual novel” by its developer, Nothing! is meant to be intellectually challenging. Due to the fact that unraveling puzzles will determine one’s progress, it can also be compared to mainstream games like Scribblenauts Unlimited.

An interesting premise

It can be difficult to categorize this game into a specific genre. It requires players to unravel extremely strange clues, and yet, there are also numerous psychological undertones. This will present a fair number of challenges, and the developer claims that very few will be able to complete the entire package.

Performing a variety of actions

Users will have to perform specific actions if they wish to progress to more advanced chapters. Examples include shaking their mobile devices a specific number of times and entering the classic Konami code. The only way to discover the solutions is to interpret hints that the game itself provides.

Patience is required

Not all strategic decisions will result in positive outcomes. In other words, the non-linear nature of Nothing! requires a fair amount of patience. It is still worth mentioning that its flexible nature will present a challenge to those who enjoy intellectual indie games.

Much more than meets the eye

Although this game may appear to be rather bland at first glance, it offers numerous ways for players to advance. Many of these will require users to think outside of the proverbial box. Therefore, it can be compared to other thought-provoking platforms in this respect, such as Submachine Universe.
