Tactical team-based shooter for mobile
Hyper Front is a free action game from developer NetEase Games. It is an online team-based shooter wherein players will face each other in competitive five-vs-five tactical matches. It features a sci-fi theme that is set in the distant future where worlds and different realities will collide.
Similar to Apex Legends Mobile, Hyper Front offers players a roster of characters to choose from. Each one of them boasts unique traits and special abilities they contribute to the squad. There’s also a whole arsenal of different weapons to choose from to suit various play styles and preferences.
Sci-fi shootout
Team-based tactical shooters with sci-fi themes are all the rage these days, with the likes of Valorant and Overwatch 2 constantly being included in the conversation. There’s now a new crop of competitive online shooters that are trying to replicate and offer the same experience while adding their own unique twist to the formula. Hyper Front is one of these titles looking to make a splash.
This game has two main modes, namely Casual Mode and Ranked Mode. The former features Classic, Death Fight, Arms Race, and Conquest match types to choose from. While the latter has Search and Destroy that lets players rank up by defeating other players. Currently, there are 13 characters available to you, each with abilities ranging from single-target, high-damage skills to stealth and illusion-based trickery.
For weapons, there are more than 20 gun types available to you, which are surprisingly based on real-world models, like Valorant. Some of them include the ever-popular AK-47, P90, and others. Now, this is also the part where the game could use a bit more. From slight weapon balance and gun mechanics issues, there are still more tweaks to be made for the experience to feel more realistic and fair.
Good but can be better
In summary, Hyper Front is a good new tactical shooter that brings plenty of fun and thrills with its diverse set of characters and weapons to play around with. There are also plenty of game modes to choose from, further extending its appeal and replayability. While there is still more work needed for its gunplay, it’s still worth giving a try for yourself.
