Multi-faceted strategy game for mobile
Grow Empire: Rome is a free strategy game that was made by Games Station Studios for mobile devices. It mixes tower defense mechanics with RPG elements in its gameplay to create a dynamic experience for players. They play as Ceaser in his quest to conquer ancient Europe.
Grow Empire: Rome has similar gameplay to the likes of Frontier Tower Defense Bowman or Royal Revolt 2. It features a mix of 2D and 3D for its graphic design. It also takes on a greek theme that lets players experience being the great conqueror himself, Julius Ceasar.
How is it played?
The core combat in Grow Empire: Rome primarily revolves around tower defense style gameplay. You and the opposing force will send troops to try and destroy the other’s base. You do have a variety of units to choose from, ranging from infantry to cavalry, and even some artillery choices available. It’s up to you to determine what kind of enemies will come your way so that you can counter their attack effectively.
During the course of playing, you will inevitably find some will get through and your camp be under siege. Hence, it’s also important to build and fortify it well in order for it to withstand oncoming attacks. Some of the things you could do are putting up multiple attack sentries and lookout posts to fend off nearby enemies or put up walls to defend against bombardment.
Almost every aspect of the game is upgradable, be it the buildings in your camp or the units that you send out to battle. You even get to call out heroes with special abilities to help you in your fight. The only thing worth noting with this game is its slight learning curve to all its mechanics. There is a rather lengthy tutorial level to help new players along, though.
A dynamic and challenging tower defense game
If you’re into tower defense titles and you would like to try something new, include Grow Empire: Rome in your list of considerations. It’s a fun and challenging game that features a robust and dynamic gameplay system that lets you play it in various different ways. Overall, it’s worth checking out.
