In the years after the first Half-Life, the series had its own spinoff, called Half-Life 3: Gold Edition, which is a remake of the original game. This time, the action takes place in the year 2049, and the world is dominated by a corporation known as Blackwater. The player is again forced to become the research scientist Gordon Freeman, who finds himself on an alien-infested Earth being picked to the bone, its resources depleted, its population dwindling.

To help him survive, Blackwater employs the help of an AI named I. AI, or “Artificial Intelligence,” who acts as its assistant and assistant to the CEO, and is also the company’s contact with the player. I. AI helps the player to find out the truth about Blackwater, and what the company is really planning to do with the human race.
