Design an anime fashion icon
Shining Anime Star: dress up is a free game for kids featuring a virtual paper doll. Various areas of her design and wardrobe can be altered to create the aesthetic that you desire, all depicted in sparkling anime stylings. Some items require you to watch an advert first.
The app shares its format with Anime Doll Dress Up Games and Dolls Closet – Moe Anime chara Dress Up. Using a wardrobe provided, you can design the look of an anime character and place her in front of your choice of backgrounds. The results also appear to be random and can lead to you earning virtual cash.
Two modes to choose from
Shining Anime Star: dress up has two main modes: PK and Doll maker. Doll Maker is the most straightforward. It gives you a generic default anime-style character and allows you to alter her hair, facial features, skin tone, clothing, and accessories. You can even give her wings or a tail.
An element of competition
In PK mode, you’ll be given a doll in front of a randomly chosen backdrop (beach, party, school, et cetera) and are encouraged to choose clothes that fit the setting. Once you’ve finished, you can enter your doll into a mock “competition” against a randomly generated doll.
Win accessories with Wish
The game has a feature called Wish. Using gems earned in PK mode, you’ll draw from a deck of virtual cards that award you with new items for your wardrobe. This process is completely random: your price could be anything from a new dress to a pair of eyebrows.
A heavy amount of randomization
The publicity for Shining Anime Star: dress up depicts a user creating a Wednesday Addams-like Goth character. The fact is, the basic wardrobe is very small, and creating anything other than generic dolls will take a lot of trial and error with the Wish feature.
