An alternate history tactical shooter game

Marauders is a tactical first-person shooter set in an alternate 1990s environment, where World War I never ended. The game features a style that it calls diesel-punk, which features technological industrialization like that from the turn of the twentieth century, but it is taken to more modern extremes.

This dark shooter game is similar to Doom, but it features a setting and weaponry based on a fictional history like Fallout 4. The setting in question is dystopian and futuristic, though it still maintains the grimy feel of the industrial revolution.

An alternate history

Marauder takes place in a fictional world where World War I — The Great War — never ended. The prolonged war led to the mass industrialization of the planet, leading to the point that many fled Earth. The player takes on the role of space mercenaries known as Marauders, and they must salvage and loot to survive.

First-person shooting and space combat

The game features a mix of traditional first-person shooter and tactical spaceship-based gameplay. The player must navigate through space to find new areas to loot, at which point they embark on missions to those areas and must fight any forces they find in the process.

Multiplayer options

While the player can tackle Marauders alone, there is also an option to play with up to three other people in a cooperative online playthrough. There is also a PvP (player versus player) multiplayer option for competing against other human players.

Upgrades a progression

Marauders features a persistent gear system that allows players to keep their tweaked weapons with mods and other favorite items from match to match. Gaining XP also enables players to unlock new items.
