Mobile hide-and-seek game
Object Hunt is a free game from Kwalee Ltd that brings one of your most beloved childhood games straight to your mobile phones. In this game, you and four other players will get to play hide and seek without actually going out of your houses. The rule is simple. One of you will play as the hunter while the rest hides. However, there is a twist. Those who hide cannot stay in one place all the time.
How to play the game
Object Hunt plays like the physical hide-and-seek game. As noted, it supports up to five players—one of which will play as the hunter. In the beginning, you will decide if you want to hide or to look for the other players. As the hunter, you will take on the avatar of a pig to differentiate you from the others. You will have to explore the entire game map to look for the hiders.
Unlike the physical game, you’re not only limited to finding the perfect hiding spot, so creativity is key. You can also camouflage yourself with the items around the game map. You can hide by looking like some of the props to make it harder for the hunter to find you. However, the items need to be unlocked before you can use them for camouflage. The game ends when the hunter finds all the hiders, or the time ends.
Object Hunter is a fun, lazy version of hide-and-seek. However, before downloading the game, there are issues you need to consider. The biggest of which is the tons of ads that constantly interrupt in every round. The rounds are also quick, making it harder for the hunter to complete its mission. There is also no interaction between the seeker and the hiders, which makes you think that the other players are actually bots.
Good concept, poor execution
Object Hunter seemed to be a great idea for casual gaming. It took a fun childhood game and brought it to your mobile phones with a few innovations. However, some issues prevent you from having fun as you play. Each round ends quickly, and there is no reward for winning. It feels as though you are playing with AI than other online players. Worse of all, the game is an ad farm, with ad interruptions after every round.
