Driver Check: A New Service for Taxi Users in Ireland

Driver Check is a new app from the National Transport Authority in Ireland that allows users to verify the registration of a taxi and the driver’s license. The app is available on iPhone and is licensed as a full version under the category of Business & Productivity.

With Driver Check, users can search for a taxi by its registration number, vehicle taxi license number, driver license number, or by scanning QR codes. The app displays current driver and vehicle information to ensure the user’s safety. If any information is incorrect, users can submit a report through the app. Additionally, the app allows users to email their trip details to a friend.

It is important to note that using this app on a jailbroken device may compromise personal user data. The app covers Ireland’s licensed taxis, hackneys, limos, and PSVs, including rural locations and major cities such as Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, and Waterford. However, some drivers may not appear on the app until they have registered with the checker.
