Skate without a real skateboard

Developed by Noodlecake, Perfect Grind is the best bet for anyone who wants to be a skateboarding expert—well, at least virtually. Set in a wonderfully drawn and colorful world, this free sports game allows for hours of skateboarding fun. In this 3D game, you play as the new recruit of the Peel Flippers group.

There are a plethora of tricks to learn and master as well as an interesting bunch of non-playable characters to flex your newfound skills on. Perfect Grind is also well-optimized, quick, and responsive, so any turns while doing tricks will most likely land well.

Perform tricks and score combos

With different modes to try, like the Free Skate or the Campaign, there is always something to do on Perfect Grind. If you want to be acquainted with the ropes first, there is also a tutorial that will teach you the basics and the controls. Learning those is quite easy, but mastering them and having absolute control over factors like speed and skateboard turning takes a lot of practice.

With every successful trick landed, you get to score points. The more tricks you perform in a row, the better the combo you will get. Plus, there are different skate parks to unlock and explore, providing a variety in terms of setting and boasting well-animated surroundings. On top of that, you can create and decorate your own skate parks, too—allowing you to explore and skate in the environment you want.

Another aspect that you can customize is your avatar. There are different characters to choose from as well as a variety of apparel you can equip them with. Fully personalize your skater’s style—from the headdress to the shoes. However, as mentioned above, this game’s most obvious drawback is that you cannot control the speed or improve the turning of the skateboard.

Virtual skateboarding made achievable

Learning how to ride a skateboard does not have to be painful and stressful, especially when you can do everything in a virtual skate park. That is where Perfect Grind comes into play—with its intuitive controls and well-animated graphics, landing a trick or two is going to be fun and seamless. There are some rough patches when it comes to the skateboard speed and turning, though.
