2D space shooting game
33 Rounds is an action game developed by Red Twice Potato. This is a 2D arcade-action game that puts you in control of a spaceship. Your goal is to collect all the gold bars and stars while avoiding the asteroids.
As the name suggests, 33 Rounds has 33 levels that need clearing. Each round will have obstacles and enemies that hinder your success. There are also four difficulty levels that you can play. However, despite that, it lacks challenge. The game also has substandard graphics and locked controls, making it unpleasant to play in the long run.
What is the game about?
33 Rounds is a 2D pixel game that takes players to outer space. As mentioned, it puts you in control of a small spaceship. Your mission is to collect gold bars and stars that come your way. However, there are asteroids that will fall down on you. Getting hit by them will have you killed. With this, you must maneuver your ship to avoid them at all costs.
As noted, there are 33 levels in the game. Each stage will have different obstacles and enemies aside from asteroids that constantly move toward you. Of course, in each round, there will be bosses that need to be defeated for you to move to the next stage. The game allows you to increase or decrease the difficulty, thanks to the four difficulty levels that the app provides.
However, while it seemed promising at first, the game actually needs more time in its development. For one, it has substandard graphics. The art style is so lazy that it fails to provide a nostalgic retro look. Additionally, the controls are locked, so you cannot customize them. Finally, while it has difficulty levels, the only difference between them is the life count.
Should you play it?
Overall, 33 Rounds is a poor quality game. Sure, it has a simple gameplay and provides various levels you can play. Other than that, it has little to no value, especially compared to other space shooters. The graphics are of poor quality, and there isn’t much challenge to them. It can entertain you for a while, but it can become boring in the long run.
