Stay private online with this free app
1.1.1.1: Faster Internet or 1.1.1.1 w/ WARP is a free utility mobile app that allows you to keep your online activities much more private. A product of Cloudflare, this is a DNS resolver that focuses on giving you fast loading speeds and secure connections.
Available for both PC and mobile, 1.1.1.1: Faster Internet replaces your connection with a more modern and optimized protocol to protect your privacy. As it’s practically a VPN, it can shield your device from security threats like malware, phishing, crypto-mining, and more by encrypting your traffic.
Does 1.1 1.1 actually work?
1.1.1.1: Faster Internet is both a DNS service and a VPN in one convenient app. There are two modes available in the app: 1.1.1.1 and WARP. The first one is the original version and only focuses on DNS queries while the latter is the default and better version as it includes the VPN function. It’s easy enough to switch between the two.
The main menu consists of a large toggle button and its description, and the FAQ and the settings on the top-right corner. The settings let you choose which of the two modes you prefer. It also contains your account and advanced controls. The whole interface is simple but still provides detailed information about the app’s features. The premium version, WARP+, can be checked out at the bottom of the screen.
You can get WARP+ for free by referring a friend to the app, which will reward you with 1GB of data. The paid monthly subscription, on the other hand, offers unlimited data and will automatically renew unless you cancel. The app’s overall performance is fine but it does suffer from how blocks traffic to connect you. Instead of boosting your speed, it sometimes slows it down.
Needs more tweaking
All in all, 1.1.1.1: Faster Internet is a great option if you’re tired of other mobile VPNs. While there’s not a lot of room for customization, this security app is easy to use and completely free. It even adds an option for you to get the premium version for a while without needing to purchase it. However, its service sometimes slows your loading speed down.
