তন গয়নদ বই সমগর: A Popular Kishore Goyenda Series in Bangladesh
তন গয়নদ বই সমগর is a popular series of teenage detective stories published by তিন গোয়েন্দা বাংলাদেশের সেবা প্রকাশনী[1]. The series started in August 1985 with the aim of introducing foreign detective stories in Bangladesh. The renowned writer Rokib Hasan was the first to contribute to this famous series, writing a total of 160 stories. Later, Shamsuddin Nawab took over the writing duties[2]. Shamsuddin Nawab is a well-known ghostwriter. ‘তিন গোয়েন্দা’ (Three Detectives) revolves around the adventures of three teenage detectives.
তিন গোয়েন্দা is not entirely an original series, but rather an adaptation of various detective stories from Europe and America. It particularly takes inspiration from Robert Arthur’s English series “Three Investigators” and some books by Enid Blyton’s “Famous Five”[3]. It was around these three characters that ‘তিন গোয়েন্দা’ gained popularity, and the books were published by Prothoma Prokashoni.
According to a survey conducted by the daily Prothom Alo, ‘তিন গোয়েন্দা’ is the most popular book among Bangladeshi teenagers. The beloved characters Kishore Pasha, Robin Milford, and Musa Aman have gained the admiration of 81 out of 450 readers surveyed, accounting for 18% of the total respondents.
