Free demo of a mystical twin stick shooter

You Are Dead is a twin-stick shooter game created by an independent developer, Oh No Pono Games. Combining lo-fi synth sounds with magical firearms, this demo showcases the aesthetic and expected features of the game. It is completely functional and already comes with 3 semi-randomized stages. The storyline is about a dying, nameless man. You will command him to communicate with the interesting individuals that will show you around this mysterious world.

Fire or play dead!

You Are Dead is a shooter game in which some parts are handcrafted, and the other is procedurally generated. As an unidentified protagonist, you need to obtain 25 special range weapons and 29 melee combat weapons, including magic bars, spears, hand-held weapons, and stat boosters. The design is also similar to retro-inspired maps like Undertale, where monsters are hiding in every corner.

You have to use your boomerang to shock your enemies and open doors that lead to hidden passageways. This needs to be completed before you get to the bottom of the dungeon ( where there are 3 semi-randomized levels). As a third-person twin-stick shooter, the game employs two keys. One command controls the action of the character, the other the direction of the shooting.

For You Are Dead, your movement stick is on the left, and the shooting stick is on the right. YAD has only two difficult modes-easy and rough. It can be limited to a beginner and a seasoned player for these limited modes, but there is a guide that you can go along with. It’s worth noting that there are 25 Powerups and 15 Enemies. Using these incentives to complete the game in 1 hour or less.

TTS packed with nostalgia

With You Are Dead by Oh No Pono Games, you will enjoy the same experience as an arcade game but with a brand new plot. Beginners can take it slowly, while experienced gamers can proceed to complete a speed run right after the tutorial. As a demo, it’s just a snapshot of a bigger story, but it provides a lot of challenges that a player at any user level can enjoy.
