Free frontend user platform
weDevs developed WP User Frontend – Membership, Profile, Registration & Post Submission Plugin for WordPress. The plugin is compatible with WordPress version 4.0 and upwards. It also works with PHP version 5.6 and higher. You can download it for free in six languages.
This plugin allows users to create posts and edit their profiles on the front end of your website. It also provides a flexible way for admins to manage users from the user interface. Alternative options include Profile Builder, ProfileGrid, and MemberPress.
General features
WP User Frontend lets you create unlimited post-type forms. Users can use it to create new posts and edit their profiles-all from the frontend. It provides default fields to edit profiles, and you can add unlimited custom fields with a Pro license. Admins have greater flexibility since they don’t have to log in to WordPress to manage users. Users can upload featured images, profile images, and featured images for any post from the user interface.
The plugin offers many other valuable features, like:
- Guest post submission and role base support.
- Customized forms with custom post types.
- Subscription-based posting and custom redirect after login and submission.
- Manage, import, or export forms.
Gutenberg blocks and shortcodes
It makes use of a drag-and-drop builder and real-time preview to let you add fields where you need them and see the changes straightaway. The WPUF block in the Gutenberg editor allows you to add any published form to a page. It is as simple as selecting it using the drop-down included in this block.
It offers a simple way than using shortcodes but still allows you to use shortcodes if you prefer. If you use shortcodes, the form will fit in with the style of your theme.
Manage users at the front end
WP User Frontend gives you many options for managing users from the frontend. It allows users to post new comments, edit their profiles, and upload featured and profile images. The drag-and-drop builder simplifies the creation of forms, and with the WPUF block, you choose a form to add to a page. It gives you the option to use shortcodes as well.
The developer updated the plugin to be compatible with WordPress 5.8 and added an option for promotional campaigns in the latest release.
