Do I need WinZip on my computer?

The ‘Add’ and ‘Unzip’ buttons deliver one-click functionality to let you add and extract files quickly. The file or folder you click on will appear in the central panel. If an archive is zipped, then you can click on the arrow next to the file name to expand the contents.
You will have options to save or share the archive in the ‘Actions’ area: ‘Save as’, ‘Email’, ‘Share via clipboard’, and ‘Share elsewhere’. You can tap the ‘Unzip’ button at the top or bottom of the window to unpack the files. A loading bar will appear to show you the progress. You can click the ‘Cancel’ button to stop the process.
Email integration lets you email archives directly from the WinZip app. A ‘Share’ button will be next to the ‘Email’ icons to let you share files to Facebook, Twitter, etc. The ‘Burn to Disc’ button lets you back up archives onto CDs and DVDs.
A list of action items is located on the right side to convert and protect your files. You can click on the ‘Actions’ button to open the menu. Files that you add to the zip can be encrypted. WinZip lets you resize photos inside of the zipped files. Additionally, you can convert images into an archive.
Is 7Zip better than WinZip?
7-Zip is free and open-source software, while WinZip is trialware. 7Zip has a higher compression ratio than WinZip. Additionally, 7-Zip offers more file formats to pack and unpack. While 7-Zip is the better overall file archiver, the Mac version of the software is only available as a command-line edition made by an independent developer.
