SyncupX is a backup application to sync your files to external harddrives, network sharepoints, usb sticks etc. It is very easy to set up, offers backup presets and supports backing up Spotlights saved searches, archiving of deleted items, file exclusion, handling of multiple backup sets, one-click restore and automation using iCal, Automator or shellscripts.
Spotlight Integration: You can configure your backup easily by just adding the files and folders you want to backup. Running Tiger you can do an even smarter configuration because SyncupX is able to backup smart folders / saved searches. So if you want to backup only the purchased songs out of your iTunes music library, just create a spotlight search listing all protected AAC files and save it. Now just add this saved search to your backup. Very simple. Saved searches can also be used to define file exclusion. For instance to exclude files based on color labels or size.
