Fun Children’s Learning Aid

Paint by Numbers – Dinosaurs + is an app aimed at children that is both fun and educational. It teaches basic arithmetic, through the medium of puzzles and colouring.

Colouring In

Essentially the app is a colour by numbers book made digital. Puzzles are added to the mix that help children learn basic arithmetic, such as making the “number” in the colour by number a sum, requiring the user to solve the sum in order to get the number they need. There is pleasant background music, as well as visual and audio effects to keep children stimulated. You can create a custom colour palette for a more personalised result. There is also a “colour by letter” option, for children learning the alphabet.

Great for Kids

Overall, this a great app for kids; both fun and informative. It has few minor issues, such as it being difficult to accurately select the are you want on smaller screens. Also, while the UI is simple and easy to use for children, it’s not always obvious how to access certain features, such as holding the paint bucket icon to access the custom palette.
