Mosaik is a fairly streamlined and simple OS X utility that is designed to make mosaics using photos stored in the hard drive of your Mac. In addition, to create a photo mosaic, you must select a source picture that would be used for modelling the end output collage. The next step entails choosing a picture folder, which would be utilized as materials source, to generate the mosaic. The tool also lets you save materials collection through its contextual menu. Therefore, when you want to reuse a picture collection to create another picture mosaic, you may just load the material bank saved already. This means you need not load the whole image folder again from scratch.

Exporting Mosaics

When exporting mosaics, the tool lets you select the exact dimensions of the output image and select any value that doesn’t exceed 15,000 x 15,000 pixels. The ‘export’ dialog also lets you enable ‘constraint proportions’ option to ensure the chosen image dimensions comply with the aspect ratio of the source image.Moreover, when saving the picture mosaic, you can export the mosaic to a JPG, BMP, or PNG image file. If required, you may also export the mosaic in the CSV format.
