Menu Bar Tool For Controlling Your LIFX Light Bulbs
LSwitch for LIFX is a simple menu bar tool, which allows users to control the LIFX light bulbs connected to the same local network. The application will search for LIFX devices on the network and then provide the options to turn the bulbs on or off, dim them, or set the colour of the light emitted from them.
Additional Features
Aside from these very basic LIFX commands, LSwitch for LIFX also allows for slightly more advanced commands. For example, it provides the ability to turn all lights on the network on or off at the same time. Moreover, custom keyboard shortcuts can be set, so that specific lights or all lights can be turned on and off with the touch of a button, rather than needing to navigate the menus.
Lack of Updates
While the basic features of LSwitch for LIFX will be enough for many users, it lacks some of the more advanced options seen in other similar applications, such as the ability to create groups of bulbs and save them as favourites. Moreover, the user interface is very basic, with little explanation of its functions, while a lack of updates has also made the application unreliable when it comes to detecting all LIFX lights.
