Jet Battle 3D (Free) is very much at the arcade end of the flight simulator genre. The aircraft are not fully aerobatic, and the controls have more in common with a car than an aeroplane! However, the gameplay is fast-paced with good graphics. There are three gameplay versions: classic, modern and invasion. Classic gives the player the ability to fight with vintage aircraft, modern includes contemporary jets and invasion adds an element of strategy to the game. Depending on the type of aircraft, different weapons systems are available, including guns and missiles. There is also an added ‘cockpit’ view for added realism.

Fun but Not Realistic

For fans of realistic flight and combat simulators, this game may be a disappointment. The controls aren’t what seasoned sim users are used to, plus they are slightly difficult to use. However, the game is still fun and easy to get into, making it a good time-waster.
