Control iTunes from any Mac
iTunes Remote Control (iTRC) is a network remote control utility for iTunes. It allows you to control iTunes on a remote machine with basic but functional playlist support.
To get going with iTunes Remote Control, you need to enable it in ‘Remote Apple Events’ on the computer with iTunes on it, being careful to remember its network name! Once you’ve got access to iTunes Remote Control you get full control of playback, access to playlists, remote searches, muting, volume control, and much more.
You can see the name of the song, album and artist. It also supports notifications via Growler so you’re notified instantly of any status changes. Previous versions of this program were plagued with problems of slow playlist loading times but that has now largely been addressed with playlists loading pretty quickly. The latest release also features a few other tweaks such as the progress indicator has now become part of the playlist build process.
ITunes Remote Control is a great way to ensure that you maintain control of iTunes while you are away, or to share it with other like-minded music lovers.
