How to Increase Maximum Upload File Size Limit in WordPress
As a webmaster, one of the things you want your users to do is increase the maximum uploaded files they can download from your website, but how do you make this function available in a WordPress plugin? It’s very possible, now that WordPress has an official plug-in called Increase Maximum Upload File Size which allows users to automatically detect upload limits. So, how does this work? Let me explain.
WordPress has two settings you can change: values per upload file size limit. The value that the plugin automatically detects is the value for the width option, which is usually empty. To change the value for width in your add_option file, edit it and change this: add_option (‘width’) Change the value for min_file_size from the default value of 100M (MB) to whatever your desired minimum size is. Save the file and activate the plugin. Now, every time someone makes a request to your blog, WordPress will check the value for width and use the size defined in your settings. That’s all there is to increasing your upload limits! And if you have multiple sites or multiple services being offered on your website, this is a great way to protect each of them individually as well, with separate settings for each one.
Now, it is time to upload some files to your website. Select the upload page and upload the files normally like uploading any other file except you want to upload the new files. Under the’uploaded files’ section, click on ‘download file now’. The plugin will then ask you where you want the downloaded file to be uploaded to. Choose the directory where you want to upload files, click on the’uploaded files’ link and upload all the files to the directory you specified.
