Free WP login portal plugin

Client Portal is a free login portal for WordPress websites, letting you craft custom pages for your customers to use on your site. They’ll gain access to private information or selected products that they have linked to their profiles. Other plugins that also work as client portals include Ontraport, MemberPress, and MemberMouse.

The only downfall is that you can’t set up registration forms or fields for logging in. If you need that functionality, you’ll need to add a different plugin that integrates with Client Portal. It only consists of a shortcode you can place on your site to allow members to sign in to access their private page.

Creating private pages

If you need your clients to gain access to your site with private pages, Client Portal is a useful plugin on WordPress. You can design different themes per client or keep it standard. It’s mostly helpful when you have clients buying products from you to resell as part of your business, or where they need to have private information only available to them.

After you install Client Portal, you’ll notice that you can set pages as ‘Private Page’ under Users in the WP dashboard. When you’ve set it up and published it, your clients will be able to access it with the correct credentials.

No registrations

Unfortunately, Client Portal doesn’t let your users complete registration forms to make it easier to collect information on them. If you don’t want to do this manually, you’ll need to install a different member plugin that collects it for you and automatically registers them for a private page. A good example of a free add-on is Profile Builder.

Adding the shortcode to pages

When you’re done designing the private pages on Client Portal, you need to assign two shortcodes on each page. The first is the actual client-portal shortcode that activates the functionality for your clients. Secondly, you’ll need to add the wppb-login code so that they can access their page with user credentials.

Providing private client pages

Client Portal doesn’t have much functionality to it, but it does provide some helpful functionality. It’s basic and easy to use, which means you won’t have too much issue setting up the private pages. There are better plugins you can use that also deals with profiling building, though.
