Turn your Mac into a broadcasting studio

The technology is now here to turn any Mac into a pretty decent broadcasting tool that can be used to produce, edit and publish videos on air.

BoinxTV is designed to help you turn that dream into a reality with a seriously comprehensive and feature rich multimedia package that takes time getting used to, but is definitely worth the effort if you’re serious about being an amateur broadcaster. It’s ideal for anyone that wants to record video podcasts, sports events, and interviews using just your Mac and up to three external cameras.

You can create some real touches of class with BoinxTV like a real TV station by adding overlay logos, a news ticker and apply transformations to your footage. There is quite a lengthy setup process as you have to agree to a trial license where you’re also informed of the hefty price of upgrading. You can choose a series of templates depending on whether your show is going to be entertainment, news etc.

Once you’ve done that, you can launch the main mixing panel which is quite intimidating although if you take some times to read through the excellent user guide, you’ll soon be adding transitions and recording. Note that unless you’ve got a high end graphics card, BoinxTV may not work very well when recording and broadcasting – ideally you should be using it with a Macbook Pro.

BoinxTV is a very impressive piece of software for the aspiring broadcaster or those that want to broadcast on the move.
