It’s Just You And An Indestructible Alien. Alone. Like Before.
Alien: Isolation – The Collection is a survival horror game where you navigate different sections of a space station as Amanda Ripley, Ellen Ripley’s daughter, in search of the truth about your mother. But you’re not alone: even once your fellow humans dwindle or turn on you in the darkness of the station, there’s still an alien hunting you down…
A space station gone badly wrong
The game integrates a number of different aspects, like escape, puzzle-solving, gameplay and story, together very nicely. The storyline features betrayal, revelations, and curveballs aplenty, though some are more disappointing than enjoyable. Escape gameplay is solid, although the flamethrower you get is sometimes too powerful.
Those who’ll enjoy it aren’t isolated
Alien: Isolation – The Collection is the definitive version of Alien: Isolation, and that means it’ll appeal to fans of the original movie and the entire series alike. It’s a solid survival horror title with a few flaws that don’t get in the way of the bulk of the experience, and it has a more cohesive, balanced narrative than shock-heavier titles like Amnesia sometimes do.
