Resizing, renaming and fine-tuning of images can all be done via the software when an upload is initiated. This saves time as you no longer need to perform these tasks on a file-by-file basis.

What’s more, you have direct control over resizing and renaming images in bulk uploads, whilst adding prefixes, suffixes or numbering conventions to image file names. This is a paid-for software application, so it’s worth bearing in mind that free alternatives exist, as do other paid-for alternatives, such as iResize for Mac.

In summary

PhotoResize, or any similar application, is not necessarily a must-have for batch-uploading photos. However, if you’re editing a large volume of image files on a regular basis, then it makes sense to use a bulk uploader tool.
