Free room escape game

Pyrolyzis is a horror adventure game from JN Squared. The third installment to the Nightmare Series, this game will challenge you to escape a room. The only thing is, once you unlocked the door and escaped, you will be thrown into the same room you just left. That will be your case until you reach the end of the game. Pyrolyzis is a free-to-play indie game. However, as with the first two titles, this will have short gameplay.

How do you play the game?

Pyrolyzis is essentially a room escape video game. Your main goal is to escape the small room you are in. You can putz around the room and find the object that will activate the continuation of your story. Once you found it, the door will unlock, and you can enter the next stage. Only to find out that the next room is still the room you have just escaped from.

However, while it is the same room, there will be some subtle—and sometimes not so subtle—differences in it. Some stages will have the room mirrored, while some will remove a thing or two from the room. There will also be some stage where there is a corpse pinned to the ceiling. However, despite having some changes, the next stages will always be in the same room. With this, you will have an idea of what to expect.

The game has two possible endings, a good one and a bad one. However, both are anti-climactic. It doesn’t really matter which one you will get as both of them feels indistinguishable from one another. Moreover, there is not much indication of what happened to get you to that particular ending. Also, for a game that uses the same location every time, there are times when players will get confused as they play.

Escape the room

Despite having a simple premise, Pyrolyzis is a unique horror game that you can play. The game does not have lots of tricks and jump scares that other similar games have, but it will give you a frighteningly good experience. Although it has the same location throughout the game, you will have a different experience in every stage. The ending is a bit of a disappointment, but the journey makes up for it.
