The Apple logo flying across your screen
The developer of Flying Apples Screensaver says he created it by accident while getting grips with the technique of texture masking.
What he has created will please hardcore Mac fans with a retro-style screensaver that features nothing but thousands of images of the hallowed Apple logo in blue, red and green flying at you.
The code is OpenGL-based and works by loading images with a mask to view the logo moving through space (similar to the default Windows Screen Saver). There’s nothing fancy to report here – it could do with a few more colors and pattern variations but what you see is what you get.
Flying Apples Screensaver will please any Mac fan wanting to add a retro Apple screensaver to their collection.
