Slam your enemies to their deaths to save your kingdom

StickWars is a game app for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch that allows you to defend your property against approaching vandals.

The game is simple, but it’s quite fun once you get the hang of it. StickWars first-timers might initially think they’re supposed to be playing the invading hordes, which can get confusing quite quickly. Luckily, the StickWars app comes with complete instructions. It also allows you to test out how to defeat the hordes (once you discover that they’re the enemy, not your personal troops!) before you return to the actual game.

During gameplay, place a finger over an enemy as they’re approaching. The object is to kill as many enemies as possible by “grabbing” them and flinging them through the air and back to the ground. If they die, you’ll know. While not graphic, StickWars does have sound effects and graphics to let you know when you’ve successfully killed an enemy. For extra points, try to fling one marauder into several others as they’re approaching. If you manage to hit more than one, StickWars rewards you with additional points.

StickWars’s first couple of levels are unfortunately almost identical, except for the marginally different weapons each enemy is carrying. Sometimes the touch screen also isn’t very responsive, but this is a minor issue that is hardly noticeable once you get the hang of playing the game.

StickWars is a little simplistic, but it’s entertaining enough to keep people adequately occupied.
