Celebrate Asterix’s 50th birthday

If you’ve never heard of Asterix then where have you been for the past 50 years? Asterix is an institution within the comic strip world and on October 29th 2009, the two viking heroes Asterix and Obelix – created by Renee Goscinny and Albert Uderzo – will be 50 years old.

The Asterix 50th Anniversary Wallpaper is a desktop wallpaper of the viking hero. There are many more to choose from on the developer’s site, including those such as Emperor Julius Caesar, Cleopatra and Dogmatix. The only downside is that they’re all only available in one resolution, which is 1280×1024 pixels.
