Addictive RPG with cats and dogs

Cat Quest II is an action-packed, 2D RPG set in a fantastical realm of cats and dogs. In this premium title, you play as two unlikely allies, a pair of kings who are on a journey to reclaim their thrones. The storyline also transpires in Felingard, which was initially seen in the first game Cat Quest.

Cat Quest II’s main edge over its predecessor is the introduction of a multiplayer mode. It seamlessly blends the same whimsical role-playing mechanics with the co-op functionality. Switch between the canine and feline protagonists as you play solo or team up with a friend.

Play with the unexpected duo

While the full version of the game is available for purchase, there is also a free demo. Similar to its predecessor, Cat Quest II also offers a charming and quaint storyline packed with the right amount of humor and action, this time focusing on a pair of unlikely partners as they try to end the feud between the Felingard cats and Lupus Empire dogs.

With more spells and a better weapon arsenal this time, this sequel will have players traversing a map, engaging in encounters with enemies, and diving into dungeons. Combat is turn-based, and the player can play alone or with a friend through local multiplayer. If playing solo, the player can rely on an AI-powered ally, although the gameplay difficulty is noticeably different. Some players report that playing solo is harder than co-op.

Another thing to note is that this sequel’s storyline is not connected to the first game in any way. While the primary locations of Felingard and Lupus Empire are retained, it branches into newer places and introduces new characters. However, the sequel’s overall gameplay — even in the full version — is shorter than the first one, despite the additional elements. Its replayability factor is also rather lackluster.

Difficult to play alone

In summary, Cat Quest II offers a quaint adventure set against a 2D backdrop. Complete quests, run across the vast map, and take down enemies alone or with a friend. While the difficulty level is easier to manage when playing with someone else, it can get quite tricky when you are playing alone. It also features the same locations from the first game.
